About Me
I have always had a passion for intercultural experiences and international travel. My family is a fun blend of Irish, South Korean, and Brazilian. I like to think I was privileged from a young age to realize how large the world truly is.
I went on to study Japanese and Economics in college, and later on, was given the opportunity to teach in rural Japan for 2 years. I was an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) in Kashima City, Saga. I had the privilege of working with middle and elementary school students every day to improve their English and create a cross-cultural exchange. I cherish the time I spent there learning about Japanese culture, making life-long friends, and learning to communicate with just a smile.
After returning back to the U.S., I made the decision to strengthen my skills at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. I gained knowledge in all areas of international education, from International Student Services to Education Abroad. I completed a year of accelerated study and now have begun my career in higher education at Emory University as an International Academic Advisor.
